Book #10: Kushiel's Dart

Oh my, how I love this book!! You may recall that I got this book as part of my V-day swap gift! A long 901 pages, but I can't believe how fast I read it. So this book is a winner in so many ways. As I've mentioned numerous times, I love fantasy novels and even sci-fi ones. I've heard from so many people that Dune is the ultimate and I must read it. Well, I tried and it is not for me. Why? Politics....boring! I couldn't get through the politics! Oddly enough, Kushiel's Dart is all kinds of politics, constantly! But it is handled so well, with just enough intrigue to keep you guessing and wanting to know what's next! Add in there a few star-crossed lovers and some mythos...VOILA, success!! I <3>

And, this totally will not ruin anything for anyone that would be interested in this book. But, Abby, I almost died when Joscelin was going to perform the 'terminus' AGH! Thanks again for the book!!!!

I know! You're thinking "Nooo! This can't be the end!" I'm sooo glad you loved this book as much as I do! The other ones are shorts (600ish?) pages, but just as juicy. Carey really does well to keep the plots interesting throughout the trilogy.

I also think it's really interesting that all of the other cultures and religions are based on history/fact. Even some of the names she uses are the same/similar. I didn't realize this when I first started reading (In High School), but I figured it out as I learned more about history and religion in college. I think it's an all around really clever book. =)

I was disappointed, however with her marque on the cover because it wasn't at all what I was imagining in my head.

But, someone designed mittens with the marque on the cover:

Do want. =D

I LOVE this series. So smart, so intense, so addicting! I have the latest waiting for me as a 52 in 52.
